These are extraordinary times, and clinicians have been forced to shift to telehealth to work with clients/patients. This situation offers unique challenges, including being of service to others while dealing with our own anxieties. Therefore, it requires unique solutions.
In this online course, co-sponsored by Action Institute of California and LifeStage, Inc we will offer effective tools and techniques from somatic modalities such as Somatic Experiencing and Psychodramatic Bodywork for clinicians to use with with their therapy/counseling clients in Telehealth sessions. We will focus particularly on creating and maintaining safety and attunement, and providing comfort and calm to our clients while supporting their continued emotional and spiritual growth. In addition, we will explore issues related to holding space for others while experiencing the same crisis, and ways to gain secondary healing from our work.
EDUCATIONAL GOALS
Participants will acquire effective clinical tools to help clients with affect regulation, to use in Telehealth sessions.
Participants will acquire effective somatic clinical tools to use for self-care, to better serve clients in Telehealth sessions.
